Mary is a dedicated licensed therapist with 19 years of experience in the mental health field and nearly 10 years in private practice. Her areas of focus include the treatment of anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorders, specific phobias, mood disorders, and adjustment to situational change such as loss or divorce. She works with preteens, teenagers and adults in individual therapy and has developed specific interest in supporting teens (and their parents) as they navigate challenges through adolescence and young adulthood.
Mary is certified in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP).
Prior to establishing a private practice, Mary worked as a therapist and forensic evaluator at the New York Center for Children (formerly the Children’s Advocacy Center of Manhattan) under the supervision of Dr. Edward Greenblatt.
Mary is committed to the use of sound research and evidence-based practices in her work. She continues to learn by attending advanced clinical trainings and national conferences, consulting with respected mentors and colleagues in the field of mental health, and working in therapy with preteens, adolescents and adults.
Mary graduated from Wofford College in 2001 and earned her Masters of Social Work from the University of Tennessee in 2005. She and her husband live in Baton Rouge and are the parents of three daughters.
